3.5” Aluminium Hard Disk Media
Used for Destop PC and Consumer Electronics

Hard disk media for home users applications are dominated by 3.5” aluminium disks. Currently SHDS production capability range from 100 GB to 160 GB per platter disks. Several platters are assembled together by drive makers to manufacture 100GB to 500 GB drives.

Historically Aluminium media was only used for desktop PCs. However today, SHDS media is also integrated into products such as personal video recorders (PVR) , High definition TV (HDTV), DVDR , HDD recorders, gaming consoles, etc.

2.5” Glass Hard Disk Media
Used for Mobile Applications

2.5” GHD is primarily employed by the mobile application market. SHDS's current production facility includes products ranging from 40 GB to 60 GB. Assembled drives by customers range from 40 GB to 120 GB. Common application for 2.5” media are laptop notebooks, external mobile HDD and car navigation systems, etc.
